December 7 – December 11

The end is almost here. Rpm will be cleaned over the holiday break. Please make sure all your belongings are cleaned out of the office before December 17th. This includes Books, clothing, papers, food (fridge), containers, etc. If they are not removed they will be donated to the UMSU free store collection.
This ensures the office will be ready for the next term, and make way for new projects.

Please note that RPM study time will begin on the 7th (mon) for those writing exams. Just a reminder that means ‘quieter’ time from 7am – 11am and again 1pm – 5pm.
Please be mindful of those who wish to socialize during the lunch period, and study in the quieter times. The outline is posted in the room for any further questions.

Good luck for those who have final exams/projects/papers.

The following day, Tuesday, December 1, UNICEF will host World AIDS Day Movie Night at the Park Theater beginning at 7 p.m. The film will be “The Day My God Died, ” which is an unforgettable look at young girls in Bombay whose lives are shattered by the child sex trade. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door.

Volunteers! Wow. The small projects labeled ‘top secret projects’ are all done!
You guys are absolutely amazing.
We all appreciate and benefit from the effort of volunteers in the RPM.
Thank you all so much :)

More top secret projects will be refilled later in the week.

Mixer was a lot of fun. Pictures from the event will be available early next week in the RPM photo album within the office. Posting online from the RPM website would violate privacy of individuals in the group who are not out. Please keep mindful of this.

This is a crucial meeting for old and new members. If you have opinions about any of the topics below and will not be able to attend the meeting, please email the office before the 11th with your opinions and thoughts in regards to the items below. This will ensure your voice will be heard at the meeting.
Some Topics:
-Constitution revisions (voting will take place)
Changing the structure to:
1 Coordinator – hired by UMSU
2 Facilitators (member elected)
Specialized Volunteers (titles to include, art director, financial advisor, office assistant, etc)
Member/General volunteers - hold office hours/keeping office open and accessible
Members – members who do not volunteer/are registered student or faculty member
Associate member – those who are members of the LGBTT* community/not a current student.
Visitors – those who infrequently visit the RPM
-Facilitator discussion – nominations or facilitators removed from constitution.
-Office structure.
-Group discussion on year (general) what we want to see for events, member input.
-Projects for the year/Goals for the year.
-First term events/preparing for winter. Looking at what we have planned for next term.
(Full topics will be posted in room on/or before the 10th of September [first day of classes]
(They will also be emailed out prior to the first day of classes)

""As per our meeting this morning, we have scheduled a Service Group information meeting on Tuesday, August 18th @ 5pm. The new structures in budgeting, including your coordinator positions have brought up many questions within your service groups. The purpose of this meeting is to provide the opportunity for all affected parties to be able to ask questions of those involved in the process and get to clarification on a number of issues that have been brought up in the last month or so within your service groups.

It is my hope that from this meeting we will be able to move forward with the intent of providing our students with the best service groups possible for the 2009/2010 school year. We want to find effective/positive ways to work together to improve and build on what we have to offer.

Please invite your council members, collective members and core volunteers to attend this meeting. I will ensure that members of the UMSU Executive and Finance Committee are in attendance."
